A meeting on “Accessible Campus” was held at Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu Vocational School with the aim of addressing the challenges faced by students with disabilities and health issues in their educational processes and creating a more inclusive campus environment.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Halis Bilgil, Director of Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu Vocational School, and attended by Assist. Prof. Dr. Zahide Şahin, Head of the School’s Accessible Campus Commission, School Secretary Aslıhan Erbaş, Deputy Director Lect. Ömür Mert, Commission Members Lect. Hatice Özdemir, Lect. Orhan Sami Sezgin, Lect. Ethem Can Parkan, as well as students with disabilities and health issues.
During the meeting, the identification of physical and academic barriers faced by students, the development of solutions to overcome these barriers, and initiatives to contribute to the university’s “Accessible University” vision were discussed. Students were given the opportunity to directly share their challenges and expectations, while commission members provided evaluations and feedback.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasized that concrete steps would be taken to address the needs of students and that collaborative efforts would continue to ensure the creation of an accessible campus environment.
